This was the trip of a lifetime. You can browse through the videos below. Each provides a different slice of life ranging from them Wild and Exotic (Gamechase at Dusk) to the Peaceful and Picturesque(Drakensberg).

- The Faures - Our hosts during our time in South Africa
The Faures were our hosts while we were in South Africa, We lived with them at their house and traveled with them on Safari to two different camps and made many interesting detours along the way.
- Badplaas Hot Springs - A great little get-away relaxation spot.
- The Badplaas Hot Springs was the first place we went after reaching South Africa. It was a great place to relax for a few days and get settled in.
- Nottens Bush Camp
- This is the camp where we stayed during our main Safari. They locked you in your cabin at night because there were no fences and once the fires were put out - you were just another meal.
- Game Chase At Dusk
- This video gives you a feel for what it was like to go on a game chase. We were tracking leopards at dusk and the video is a bit lengthy but it is one continuous shot and you can experience the thrill of a chase.
- The Big Five - Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, and the Leopard
- When in Africa you have to see 'The Big Five'. This is a tour of our encounters with the big five while at Kruger.
- Nottens Game Drive - Additional animals seen on game drives.
This is a sample of the additional animals the we saw on the game drives. These were the most prevalent and we could get good video of them.
- The Bush Tracker - Bush Stories and Ledgends
- This was a hiking safari where we were completely exposed. The Guide and his Rifle were our safety. Along the way he had some Bush Stories and Ledgends to tell. A bit hard to understand but fun none the less.
- Karongue Reserve - Another Safari in Karongue
- This safari was with some other friends Abre and Sonya. We also did some walking on this safari and came across a lone cheetah while on foot. We quietly and cautiously kept together and kept our distance - 50 yards or so.
- A Roadtrip - Pictures taken on our travels around the country.
- This is a montage os shots that we took while traveling around the country. Some are good, some are not but it gives you a feel for driving in the countryside.
- A Night in Pretoria - Our visit to the Lomus Family in Pretoria
One of our objectives while in South Africa was to visit Jeff and Susanne Lomus. They had visited the States when I was young so we got to know them pretty well. Seeing them again was really great.
- Drakensberg - The South African Mountain Region
- At the end of our stay we went to the mountains to their Chalet there. It was a wonderfully peaceful place where we relaxed and enjoyed each others company.
More Information
All the video and the stills were shot by Betty and I. Just before we left I got her the best Nikon zoom lens I could afford and it paid off in spades. It is a beautiful piece of glass and she got some great pictures with it.
I, on the other hand, was a total novice with the video cam. I bought it just before we left - first one I ever owned. I cracked open the manual, did a quick crash course on what buttons did what, then off into the bush we went.
